Where is Thorpe Park Resort?
There are lots of public transport routes with the nearest train station to Thorpe Park being Staines, which is approximately 3 miles away and offers a direct route from London Waterloo.
With its close proximity to London and easily accessible train station, Thorpe Park is a must-visit attraction for anyone looking for a fun-filled day of adventure.

How To Get From London To Thorpe Park By Train
Simply head over to London Waterloo to catch a train straight to the nearest railway station to Thorpe Park Resort: Staines Railway Station. London Waterloo rail station can be accessed via the Bakerloo, Jubilee, Northern, Waterloo and City lines.
5 South West trains run per hour to and from London Waterloo and Staines with a journey time ranging between 30 – 50 minutes. Once you arrive at Staines Rail Station, you can take the 950 express bus with a journey time of 15/20 minutes and it will drop you off right by Thorpe Park Main Entrance.
*Important! Oyster cards, contactless payment cards and Freedom passes are not valid for travel to Staines Railway Station on South Western railway services. You will need to buy a valid train ticket from the ticket office.
Tickets from London Waterloo to Staines are £6.80 for an adult and £3.40 for a child (5-15 years old).
Make sure to book your train tickets in advance and check for any travel updates or disruptions on the National Rail website or app before your train journey to avoid any inconveniences.
How To Get From London To Thorpe Park By Bus
Travelling from London to Thorpe Park, by bus is super convenient and can take you right up to Thorpe Park’s Main Entrance.
950 Express Bus:
The 950 bus takes you directly outside the theme park’s main entrance. The bus departs from Stop 4 and then Stop S (outside Staines Railway Station’s ticket office). The Sullivan 950 buses have lots of discount fares available, including ticketing from National Rail Stations and group travel. The standard fares between Staines Rail Station and Thorpe Park are:
- Adult/person aged 12 or over: £3 single or £4 return.
- Child aged 5-11: £2.50 single or £3 return
- Child 0-4: No Charge.
*Important! Oyster cards, Travelcards, Freedom passes, SCC Bus Passes or any passes issued by other authorities are not valid on this bus service.
Staines Bus Station (Elmsleigh)
There are a few different buses and bus routes you can take to get from London to Thorpe Park.
- Chertsey: Take the 446 bus towards Thorpe Park (Heriot Road)
- Staines: Take the 950/461/446 bus to Thorpe Park
- Working: Take the 446 bus to Thorpe Park
You can then take the 950/461 bus from Thorpe Park back to Staines Bus and Rail Station.
Make sure to check for any travel updates or disruptions before your bus journey to avoid any inconveniences.
How To Get From London To Thorpe Park By Car
It takes about 1 hour to 1 hour 30 minutes to drive from London to Thorpe Park via the M4 and M25 (depending on traffic).
To get to Thorpe Park Resort, hop onto the A320 between Staines and Chertsey via Junctions 11 or 13 from the M25. Once you are on Chertsay Road, simply follow the signs directly to Thorpe Park’s Main Entrance and car park.
If you are driving from Soho, you can join the M4 from the A4 or A40. From there, you can connect from the M4 to the M25, leading you straight to Thorpe Park.
Car Parking
Disabled parking is also available and is located near the admissions area.
Top Tip: we prepaid for parking the last time we drove to Thorpe Park. Booking parking online cost us £8 as opposed to £9 on the day.
If you are a Merlin Entertainments Annual Passholder or Thorpe Park Premium Season Passholder, parking is free! You just need to show your valid pass at the parking attendant booth for complimentary parking.
