What to Expect...

Step aboard HMS Belfast, a historic Royal Navy warship moored on the Thames between London Bridge and Tower Bridge. Families can explore nine decks of real ship spaces, from open-air viewpoints to the engine and boiler rooms below.

It is more than a museum visit. Children can discover how around 950 people lived and worked on board, with original spaces including the bakery, chapel, mess decks and sick bay. Interactive displays, a family audio guide and regular activities help bring the ship’s stories to life.

Plan at least three hours, although many families stay for half a day. HMS Belfast is best suited to children who enjoy history, transport and hands-on exploring. Some routes include steep ladders, narrow walkways and uneven surfaces, so younger children may not explore every area.

Good to know before you book: under 5s go free, children under 16 need an adult with them, and family activities run every weekend and daily during school holidays.
