Guided tour access to Shakespeare’s iconic wooden O
Step inside Shakespeare’s Globe and explore one of London’s most recognisable theatres on the official Globe Theatre Guided Tour. You’ll hear the story of the original 1599 playhouse, learn how the modern Globe was rebuilt, and see how this working theatre still stages performances today.
The current guided tour includes expert live commentary inside the Globe Theatre, plus time in the walk-through exhibition space with seasonally curated displays, costumes and props. Live performances are booked separately.
The tour runs in an open-air theatre and goes ahead in all conditions, so it works best for families who are happy to dress for the weather and spend time on their feet. Find more cultural days out in London here: Theatre and cinemas in London

It's the perfect start to your Globe adventure! Booking with us ensures you’re front-row for a journey through history and drama that only Shakespeare’s Globe can offer.
This ticket is built around the Globe Theatre Guided Tour, which takes you inside Shakespeare’s famous wooden O and explains how the original playhouse became one of London’s best-known theatre landmarks. It is a practical way to explore the venue if you want the history without booking a full performance.
Your visit also includes self-guided time in the exhibition space. Displays are seasonally curated and include costumes, props and hands-on elements that help bring Shakespeare’s London to life.
The guided tour takes you into the Globe Theatre itself, where you can see the structure, stage and galleries up close. Guides explain how performances worked in Shakespeare’s time and how the theatre operates today as a live performance venue.
This is not a static museum visit. Because Shakespeare’s Globe is an active working theatre, your route or photography access may change on the day depending on rehearsals, stage activity or other operations.
The Globe Theatre is open for specific times for tours and performances.
