we explored inside exhibitions, the gift shop & artist work. This exhibitions change and they are always improving and adjusting displays,
Volunteers are on hand to help and
advise. They tell wonderful stories!
We played in the playground , which is a great size and has plenty to do!
The horses are a great area to visit and the makers shed is located there too, where children can make crafty activities set by the team! We made a cup and ball toy!
There is also a man made beach and cafe located next to it and toilets, this is a great addition and provides hours of fun! You can picnic here too.
The nature walk is a lovely walk, you can do this to reach either end of the site, for a more scenic route. Activities and info can be found on the route too to keep the kids entertained!
Theres also a little tram which again travels up and down the site - I can’t recall if there was an extra charge for this as we didn’t use it on this trip.

picnics are a great option here. We didn’t use the cafe- as last time we visited it was closed, so just brought a picnic.
There is a small cafe by the beach
Picnic!
Everywhere looked clean
Keep introducing more activities
Good options
Never over crowded when we attend
Always a great day out which we return to frequently with friends
Entry is free or very cheap if they do charge - usually in peak months
Excellent day out, plenty to do, educational and a piece of history on your door step. We never tire of here
"Excellent day out that we always return to!"Gemma Baskerville
