The Ice Cream Farm
Chester, CheshireAbout The Ice Cream Farm
Ice cream, adventure play and family fun come together at The Ice Cream Farm, an award-winning attraction near Chester that is designed especially for children. Set in the Cheshire countryside, it is home to the world’s largest ice cream shop, indoor and outdoor play areas, family food outlets and plenty of colourful attractions to explore.
Every visitor needs an Entry Ticket, with prices starting from £1.50 for adults and £2 for children. Babies under 1 go free. Entry includes free parking and unlimited play in Daisy’s Garden, the outdoor all-weather play area. Once inside, families can choose how much they spend, as most extra attractions are paid for separately per child, per play.
There is plenty for little adventurers to enjoy. Kids can burn off energy in Daisy’s Garden, play a round at Strawberry Falls Adventure Golf, bounce on Marshmallow Mound, dig for treasure at Gemstone Cove, race around Silvercone, or hop aboard Chuggy’s Tractors. Indoors, families can head to Fun Factory soft play or visit Honeycomb Canyon, Europe’s largest indoor sand and water play area. Remember to bring spare socks for soft play and bouncy pillows, plus splashwear, swimwear or a change of clothes for Honeycomb Canyon.
One of the newest highlights is Ice Cream Fields, an ice cream-themed sensory adventure playground packed with imaginative play zones, zip lines, balance challenges, scented flavour stations and toddler-friendly areas. It is suitable for all ages, although individual equipment restrictions may apply. Entry to Ice Cream Fields costs 1 Play Pass play per child or £4.50 per child for an all-day access stamp.
For the best value, families can buy a Play Pass, a pre-loaded card for paid attractions. Play Passes can be shared between children and used across multiple visits, helping families save compared with paying separately for each activity. Please note that some mini attractions, including Silvercone, Mini Scoop and Mini Tractors, require separate contactless payment and are not covered by the Play Pass.
Of course, no visit would be complete without ice cream. The Ice Cream Farm serves more than 50 flavours of Cheshire Farm Ice Cream, from classic favourites to colourful specials, with cones, tubs, sundaes, milkshakes and hot desserts available. There are also vegan ice creams and sorbets, so more of the family can join in the treat.
Food and drink options are available on site, including The Parlour, Sticky Paws and The Coffee Barn daily, with extra outlets such as Pit Stop and Pizza Piazza usually open at weekends and during school holidays. Families can also bring a picnic to enjoy in the designated picnic area next to Marshmallow Mound.
The Ice Cream Farm is open daily from 9:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday and 9:30am to 6:00pm at weekends. It usually only closes on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, but it is always worth checking the official website before travelling, as some attractions are weather dependent or may close for private parties and SEN sessions.
With free parking, baby changing, accessible toilets, food, gifts, indoor play and outdoor adventures, The Ice Cream Farm is a brilliant family day out in Cheshire, whether you are visiting for a scoop, a full day of play, or a special treat during the school holidays.
