Our Arrival & First Impressions

First at the castle

we unintentionally arrived at the castle before the gates were even open! We left just before 9 so as not to get stuck in traffic and ended up getting there in just over an hour. We ended up being first in line so that when it opened we were basically running around the castle on our own! Which was beautiful!

Activities Breakdown

Boat hire

There is so much to do at Hever castle it is impossible to do all in one visit. This year we did it a little different. We didnt watch the jousting show as we had watched it the last 3 years. Instead we walked around the entire estate, playing pooh sticks in a stream that we found, cooling off in the water maze. Finding our way in the hedge maze. The boys played in the amazing wooden castle park for a long time! We popped to the bird show as the boys usually love watching this. But unfortunately I hate to say it, the man was VERY boring. He talked ALOT and was showing just one bird at a time for a LONG time. Alot of people were leaving early as did we. We had a picnic in the woods, 2 lots of ice cream and rented a boat.

  1. 1

    Water maze

Be sure to bring towels and spare clothes. On a hot day the kids LOVED it
    Water maze
  2. 2

    Archery

My 8 year old loves this and has done it every year since he was 5 (the minimum age) it is always ran by the same people and they are very good teachers and do not rush them at all. He looks forward to this every summer

Money-Saving Tip
