About Pennywell Farm
Pennywell Farm is the South West's biggest activity farm and one of Devon's most loved family days out - set on the edge of Dartmoor National Park at 650 feet above sea level, with sweeping views across the Dart Valley.
Open 7 days a week from 14th February to 1st November 2026, the farm runs a packed schedule of hands-on activities from 09:00 to 16:00, with something new happening every 30 minutes - just listen for the bell. Everything is included in your ticket price.
Home to over 150 animals, Pennywell is the original breeder of the world-famous Pennywell Miniature Pig. Head to the Piggy Cuddles Barn any time during your visit for an unforgettable snuggle with the farm's smallest residents. The daily Pig Racing (12:30pm every day) is a phenomenon all of its own - cheer on your favourite porker in a snout-to-snout sprint that gets the whole crowd going.
The full daily schedule includes Ferret Racing, Bottle Feeding (two sessions daily), Goat Milking, Goat Walking, Deer Feeding, Pony Pampering, Meet the Heavy Horses, Meet the Donkeys, and much more - all run by the farm's expert team.
For rides, three are included in your ticket: the Tractor and Trailer Ride (all ages), the Rainbow Railway (all ages), and the Red Rocket (90cm+ only). Coin-operated rides are available separately and require £1 coins.
Play areas are spread throughout the farm - trampolines, bouncy castles, an inflatable slide in Noah's Barn, Crazy Golf, a Tractor Village for young drivers, sit-on diggers, sandpits, and a dedicated toddler play village. For older children, the Treetops Adventure Towers (added 2024) feature tunnel slides, climbing trails, and rope bridges with three of the biggest slides in the region.
Food is available at multiple points across the farm, including Noah's Takeaway (pasties, sausage rolls, stone-baked pizzas on peak days), Devonshire cream teas, local ice cream, and the new Treetops Takeaway with countryside views. Gluten-free and vegan options are available. Families can also bring their own food - there's plenty of picnic space.
A Magical Christmas Experience runs on selected dates in late November and December - check the Pennywell website for dates and separate ticketing.
