Our Arrival & First Impressions

We were so excited to be invited for an exclusive first look at the brand-new Minecraft Experience in London, and as a family of Minecraft fans, it was an easy "yes!" Even if you don't play the game, the promise of an immersive, story-led adventure really appealed to us, as we're always on the lookout for new family days out. We looked at ticket prices in advance — adult tickets start from £27, children from £22, with under 2s free — so families can budget accordingly. A top tip: prices are often lower on weekdays, so it's worth checking if you have flexibility.

We travelled by train and found it straightforward — the venue is located at Corner Corner, Maritime Street, SE16 7LL, just a short walk from Canada Water Station. If you're bringing little ones, it's helpful to know that the site is wheelchair accessible, with buggy parks and lockers available. When we first arrived, we were greeted by friendly staff who set the scene perfectly. After storing our things in the handy lockers, we were introduced to our mission video by the villagers — it really built the excitement for what was to come and had our 11-year-old buzzing with anticipation.

Activities Breakdown

We were each handed our orbs, which instantly grabbed our attention. These glowing devices became the key to the entire adventure, letting us chop down trees, battle mobs, break blocks, and collect resources along the way. The orbs vibrate and change colour — green to move forward, red to warn of danger — which kept us fully immersed in the Minecraft world from start to finish. We worked our way through seven themed rooms, each one completely different from the last. One moment we were gathering ingredients, the next we were battling zombies and racing against the clock to save the villagers. The storyline flowed seamlessly and gave us a clear sense of progress through the quest. Every room required us to think, move, and work together, which made it a genuinely shared family experience rather than everyone doing their own thing.

  1. 1

    The Interactive Orbs

The glowing orbs were the star of the show. Using them to chop trees, battle mobs, and collect resources felt completely unique and hands-on. The haptic feedback — vibrating and changing colour from green to red — kept us immersed and on our toes throughout the entire adventure.
  2. 2

    The Immersive Storyline

From the villagers' mission briefing video right through to the thrilling finale, the rescue storyline kept us hooked. It flowed naturally through all seven rooms, giving us a clear sense of progress and purpose that made the whole experience feel like a real quest rather than disconnected activities.
  3. 3

    Family Teamwork Challenges

Every room required us to think, move, and work together — whether it was solving puzzles, fending off mobs, or racing against the clock. It was brilliant for bringing the family closer together, and by the finale we were sweaty, smiling, and genuinely proud of what we'd accomplished as a team.
  4. 4

    Battling the Zombie Mobs

The zombie battle rooms were a real adrenaline rush. Using our orbs to fend off waves of mobs while racing against the clock had everyone — kids and adults alike — fully engaged and shouting encouragement to each other. It brought the Minecraft combat experience to life in a way we didn't expect.
  5. 5

    Seven Unique Themed Rooms

Each of the seven rooms was completely different from the last, offering new challenges and visual surprises around every corner. From gathering resources to solving environmental puzzles, the variety meant there was never a dull moment and the hour flew by far faster than we expected.

Food & Drink

There aren't any food or drink options directly inside the Minecraft Experience itself, which isn't a huge issue given the experience lasts around an hour, but it's definitely something to be aware of if you're planning your visit around mealtimes — especially with younger children who'll have worked up an appetite from all that mob-battling.

There is, however, a café within Corner Corner at Canada Water, just a short walk from the entrance, which is a convenient spot to grab a coffee or snack before or after your adventure. We didn't eat there ourselves as the kids had snacks before we arrived, but it's reassuring to know the option is right there.

For families, we'd recommend bringing along your own water bottles and small snacks for afterwards — the adventure is surprisingly fast-paced and physical, and everyone will be ready for a refuel by the end. Given the Canada Water location, you're also well-placed to explore other cafés and family-friendly restaurants in the area if you want to turn it into a longer day out. Overall, while food isn't a feature of this experience, it's easy to plan around and the nearby options provide a convenient backup.

Money-Saving Tip

Book weekday tickets for the best prices — they're often significantly cheaper than weekends. Adult tickets start from £27 and children from £22, with under 2s free. Bring your own water bottles and snacks to avoid needing to buy anything on-site, and combine the experience with a meal at one of the nearby Canada Water restaurants to make a full day of it without overspending.

Overall Verdict & Ratings

A* Tried & Tested - Day Out With The Kids
Safety & Cleanliness5.0

The venue felt safe and well-managed throughout. Friendly staff were present at every stage, lockers were provided for belongings, and the site is wheelchair accessible with buggy parks available. Everything was clean and well-maintained.

Rides & Entertainment5.0

Seven completely unique themed rooms with an immersive storyline that flowed seamlessly from start to finish. The interactive orbs were a brilliant touch, and every room offered something different — from resource gathering to zombie battles to puzzle solving.

Food & Drink3.0

No food or drink options inside the experience itself, which is the main drawback. However, there's a café at Corner Corner nearby and plenty of restaurants in the Canada Water area. The experience only lasts an hour, so it's easy to plan around.

Queues & Crowds5.0

No queues at all when we visited. The timed entry system means crowds are well-managed and you never feel rushed or crammed in with other families. The experience flowed smoothly from room to room without any bottlenecks.

Fun & Delight5.0

An absolute blast from start to finish. The combination of the immersive storyline, interactive orbs, and family teamwork challenges had us sweaty, smiling, and proud by the finale. Our 11-year-old was in his element, and even the adults were fully engaged throughout.

Value for Money4.0

Ticket prices are on the higher side at £27 for adults and £22 for children, which adds up for families. However, the quality of the experience is genuinely impressive and it felt worth the investment. Booking weekday tickets helps bring the cost down.

The Final Verdict:

Our visit to the Minecraft Experience was a delightful blend of excitement and immersion, perfect for our Minecraft-loving family. The experience was wonderfully designed, captivating from start to finish. We were impressed by the seamless way the storyline flowed through the seven unique rooms — each one a new adventure offering different challenges that required us to think, move, and work together. The interactive orbs really stood out, bringing a touch of magic to our journey. You could feel the thrill of the game in your hands as the orb vibrated and changed colour to guide you through each challenge. The lack of on-site food and drink wasn't an issue, as the experience was just the right length at around an hour, but it's smart to plan a snack break afterwards — especially if you have younger children, as the adventure is surprisingly physical. Our son, at 11, was the perfect age to fully enjoy the challenges, though younger ones might find some of the faster-paced rooms a bit overwhelming. Overall, it was a genuinely memorable day out that left us feeling like heroes. We'd highly recommend it to any family seeking an active, story-led adventure — just remember comfy shoes, a water bottle, and a thirst for teamwork. We'd absolutely go back and do it all over again.
