The Cape Wrath Trail
The trail itself is 240 miles long and takes 3 weeks to walk! Don’t be scared, you don’t have to walk the entire trail. Hiking enthusiasts tend to carry tents with them for wild camping as they’ll need time to rest and recharge in between hikes.
You’ll start the trail in Fort William and pass through the remote wilderness of Knoydart, Assynt, and Sandwood Bay on your journey. Get acquainted with the incredible views and animals like the highland cows, as you won’t see any humans for a while… If you are up for the 3-week trek, you’ll also spend many of your nights in bothies.
What’s a bothy, I hear you ask? A bothy is a small barn or hut-like building used for shelter in the mountains. Hikers typically set up camp here after a long day of walking. Bothies are free.
