Some useful information to note is that the Arboretum is a dog-free zone, so a family pet will have to stay a home. There’s also a large car park on site suitable for coach parking.

The arboretum at Kew stretches across two-thirds of the beautiful gardens. It offers a stunning leafy escape to relax, wander and discover. You will be amazed by the size of mighty oaks and when you see the giant brick-red redwood trees. They can be seen towering above, at the height of a 13-storey building! The collections of trees allow Kew to carry out vital conservation research.

Families are in for a real treat too when visiting- a special children’s garden is open for play sessions at no extra cost.

Located just 20 minutes drive from Oxford Botanic Gardens, a day at Harcourt Arboretum is a chance to explore. Discover a typical British woodland and wildflower meadows. Seasonal delights include bluebells and rhododendrons. You’ll find walkways lined with pretty reddish-purple Japanese maple trees. A sight that is perfect for when you take that family Instagram pic! During your visit you’ll meet an abundance of wildlife grazing in the meadows including sheep, pigs and cows.
