Tidal Wave Water Ride At Thorpe Park

Tidal Wave is one of Europe’s tallest water rides. This is no ordinary log flume, thrilling riders by plunging down an 85ft drop into gallons of water below. This exciting theme park attraction really has to be seen to be believed!

A wet and wild fun experience, there’s a good chance you will get a soaking as a huge wall of water covers you in an impressive splash on your descent. You might want to try one of the warm air dryers located around Amity Cove to dry off or pack a towel in a nearby locker.  Beware if you are just a spectator, you had better not stand too close to the ride or you’ll get a soaking too! But then again…. getting wet is all part of the fun on the water rides at Thorpe Park!

The ride is themed around Amity Cove, a 1960’s fishing village which has been devasted by a tidal wave. Tidal Wave riders board rescue boats to help evacuate the town.

Storm Surge Water Ride At Thorpe Park

Storm Surge is a favourite ride for visiting families and you won’t want to miss going on this spinning rapids water ride. Riders climb aboard a rubber ring life raft and you’ll want to make sure you hold on! Excitement builds with a climb to the top of a 64-feet-tall hill then the fun begins. As a result of climbing high riders experience a twisting, spiralling descent!

Storm Surge is located near Tidal Wave in the Amity Cove area of the theme park. So we recommend a visit to the famous Amity Fish & Chips whilst you are nearby.

  • Can only ride in groups of 4, 5 and 6.
  • You must be at least 1.1m to ride.

Rumba Rapids Water Ride At Thorpe Park

Fancy a ride down a tropical river? Then you’ll love Rumba Rapids! Previously known as Thunder River this Thorpe Park attraction is located in the Calypso way area. Rumba Rapids is a family friendly water ride. The ring shaped boat takes you on a river journey of dips, twists and turns into Calypso woodland. This is a dark ride at certain areas with an exciting trip into a tunnel, so make sure you keep an eye out for the waterfall!

  • Minimum height is at least 0.9m tall.
  • Anyone under 1.1m in height must be accompanied by an adult
  • If your party is smaller than 8 be prepared to share your boat because each ride only departs when full to capacity.

Depth Charge Water Ride At Thorpe Park

Even though it is one of the older rides Depth Charge still offers plenty of fun. One of the first four lane dingy slides to be built in the UK it is located in the Neptune Beach area, near the front of the theme park. Why not go whizzing down one of the four slide lanes on your own inflatable dingy? Then you will feel the refreshing water spray as you go! Enjoy racing to the bottom with your friends or family members!

  • Riders must be at least 0.9m tall to ride and those under 1.2 m must be accompanied by an adult
  • Be prepared for possibility of long queues due to the location near the entrance

Amity Beach At Thorpe Park

It isn’t a water ride but we couldn’t write about water attractions at Thorpe Park  without mentioning Amity Beach. Amity Beach is an outdoor water park which is great for families. Relax on the sand, paddle in the shallow pool area or let the kids try out the water slides.

  • All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Amity Beach is only open on selected dates throughout the year because it is  an attraction dependant on weather.
