What Does Operation Ouch! Food, Poo and You Include?

For curious minds and science lovers, here’s your chance to deep dive into the digestive journey as you explore the human body and where food goes when we eat!

Maybe you’ve heard it’s actually a hit BBC Children’s TV series? Well, it’s now being brought to life, bringing you and the kids closer to the poo-duction line than before at this premiere blockbuster exhibition!

Join Dr Chris, Dr Xand and Dr Ronx as you head out on a special mission to uncover where our food goes once we eat.

You’ll be shrunk to miniature size, swallowed, squeezed through and spat out of Dr Xand’s digestive system on an adventure like no other! Explore the important role of each organ in the digestive journey – from the gallbladder and bowels, down to the large intestine and…out the other end. You’ll discover how food is broken down, sniff out the science on how the poo-duction line works to remove the waste and you can get stuck into an interactive activity to fight off the bad bacteria in the body!

Not only that, but you can listen in on inspiring stories from young people who live with various digestive conditions and how their medicine is helping them! Ogle at fascinating objects in the science museum and stand in awe at the amazing cutting-edge technology like Larry the Vomiting Robot! He had a key role in helping scientists understand the distribution of norovirus particles! Nasty!

If that wasn’t enough, you can take part in a super epic experiment on finding out how food is smashed, mashed, pulped and absorbed in the human body. With an all–sensory experience, you can immerse yourself in the sights, sounds and smells of your fascinating digestive system!

Absolutely.

Will the doctors be there in person?

Dr Chris, Dr Xand and Dr Ronx will be digitally present throughout the exhibition.

Is this a multi-sensory experience?

Yes! You’ll be able to smell, hear and see with various additional activities that are all centred on everyone’s favourite subject – poop!

There will also be sensory activities for the kids to get stuck in.
