About National Winnie The Pooh Day

Winnie the Pooh and piglet eating honey in the grass
The 18th of January marks the birthday of A.A. Milne, the genius behind the beloved bear and his timeless adventures, and quickly became a day dedicated to celebrating the whimsical world of Winnie the Pooh. Winnie the Pooh Day is by far the cuddliest holiday in the year!

First published in 1926, A.A. Milne’s stories were filled with themes of friendship, simple joys and imagination. The rise in popularity saw Pooh Bear find his way onto our TV and movie screens and saw him quickly become a beloved character for children and adults alike.

Winnie the Pooh Day is the perfect opportunity for fans to celebrate the enduring charm of our silly bear and the meaningful messages found in the stories. It continues to bring joy and nostalgia to fans of all ages and reminds us of the importance of friendship, kindness and imagination.
