If you enjoy panoramic views, glass floors and art deco buildings Lift 109 could be up your street… Watch out London Eye, there’s a new and more exciting viewpoint in town…

But before we get into the details let’s go through a brief overview of Battersea Power Station.

What is Battersea Power Station?

battersea power station
This iconic building has an authentic history dating back to the 1930s when it was used as a coal fire station. It was closed in 1975 after locals raised concerns about air pollution. In 1983 Control B was closed down too meaning the whole power station was then decommissioned and out of use.

However, when one door closes, another one opens right? In 2014 renovation works started on the art deco building with the plans of making it into one of London’s most popular destinations for shopping, dining & attractions. Renovations officially finished in 2021 and since then a number of retail stores, restaurants, and bars have fleeted to the large exhibition space.

Today, you can visit ping pong bars, Gordon Ramsay’s Bottomless Pizza Restaurant, Prospect Place Playground, and Control Room B which is now one of London’s most unique bar experiences that has kept some of its original features. There are also two cinemas under the arches, DNA VR Battersea (flagship attraction), and so many more must-visit attractions.

Battersea Power Station has become the place to visit in Central London and one of its most unique attractions, Lift 109, is what we really want to talk about most…
