Did you know that Leeds is a bit of a hotspot for stately homes? With loads of lovely rural locations dotted around the outskirts of the city and lots of green space to explore.

Depending on the season you could get all bundled up in puffy coats and march through the grounds or pack a picnic and sit on the grass! It’s a fab family day out filled with adventure and exploration!

Looking for something a little unusual over the school holidays? Look no further than a few of the Leeds museums packed with intriguing artefacts and curiosities. Take one of our favourites, Eureka, which is dedicated to discovering weird and wonderful facts about the world around us.

What better way to get up to speed than by having a go at go-karting in Leeds? It’s an adrenaline rush for tykes who love to tear about and with a professional team to hand, safety is assured. The first one to cross the finish line gets an ice cream – go, go, go!

With a zap, bang and a wallop, make your way to one of the laser quest Leeds arenas for high-octane adventure. It’s a great way to get little limbs moving as kids chase each other here and there, while the glow-in-the-dark effects make it the grooviest day out around.

Bowling in Leeds is like bowling anywhere else: loads of rolling, riotous fun. If you have skills to spare (get it?), aim for the top spot on the leaderboard with as many strikes as you can muster. All the more important though, make sure you pick a funny name to go up there. Nothing too rude though!

Take a trip into the depths of the tropics and spot exotic fish, colourful birds and seriously strange plants, all in a proper jungle in the heart of Leeds. It’s a cosy hideaway in the winter months and always a winner with animal-mad kids.

We did say Leeds was a lovely spot for country walks and this is one of the best. Not only that but you can dress up like the Victorian servants who used to live here, or visit the Bird Garden with its residents from all over the world. Those and an adventure playground make it a definite all-rounder!

This one’s a real everyday adventure, and a great way to try something different in the Leeds school holidays! Climb to the highest heights or get your mini explorers trained by a member of the team. It’s a thrill whatever your age, let’s see how high you can climb!

Meet, greet and feed a gang of friendly farmyard animals, including cows, goats and micro-pigs, Mollie and Millie!

Families can come prepared with tasty carrots or sweet apples and make loads of new pals, that is before running wild on an indoor soft play.
