Chocolate Rice Crispy Cakes Recipe

Chocolate Rice Crispy Cakes Recipe…

You can’t make an omelette without breaking eggs, right? Well, you can’t make some delicious crispy treats without the correct ingredients. Here’s everything you’ll need to make chocolate rice crispy cakes…

Ingredients

  • 100g milk chocolate, broken up
  • 50g dark chocolate, broken up
  • 100g butter
  • 4 tbsp golden syrup
  • 100g puffed rice / Rice Krispies
  • Toppings: sprinkles, mini marshmallows, nuts, Smarties, dried fruit or white chocolate buttons, mini eggs, and more. (optional)

Equipment:

  • Heatproof bowl
  • Tablespoon
  • Weighing scales
  • Cupcake tray
  • Cupcake cases

Instructions…

  1. Put the chocolate in a heatproof bowl with the butter and golden syrup and gently melt in 10-second bursts in the microwave. You can also melt it over a pan of simmering water. Just make sure the bowl doesn’t touch the water!
  2. Stir until smooth, then take off the heat and stir in the Rice Krispies, coating them gently with the chocolate until they are all completely covered.
  3. Add any marshmallows or any other sweet treats you wish to add to the mixture.
  4. If you are making crispy cakes, you’ll want to divide the mixture into 9 – 12 cupcakes. Make sure you have a cupcake tray with cupcake cases laid out before you.
  5. Use a tablespoon to fill each cupcake case with rice crispy mixture.
  6. Then leave them to set. If you want to speed up this process, then pop them in the fridge for an hour!
  7. Voila! After some serious chill time, your rice crispy cupcakes are ready to eat! You can always drizzle some melted chocolate on top or dust with icing sugar for a nice finishing touch. once you’ve had your fill make sure to put them in an airtight container. You can keep your treats for up to two days before they will start to get funky.

Chocolate Rice Crispy Squares Recipe…

If you aren’t keen on crispy cupcakes then rice crispy squares may be better to suited to you. The recipe is nearly identical to the crispy cakes recipe. the only real difference is where you put your mixture.

Ingredients

  • 100g milk chocolate, broken up
  • 50g dark chocolate, broken up
  • 100g butter
  • 4 tbsp golden syrup
  • 100g puffed rice / Rice Krispies
  • Toppings: sprinkles, mini marshmallows, nuts, Smarties, dried fruit or white chocolate buttons. (optional)

Equipment:

  • Heatproof bowl
  • Spatula
  • Tablespoon
  • Weighing scales
  • 9×13-inch baking pan

Instructions for chocolate crispy squares

1. All of the same steps as the crispy cakes from step 1 – step 3.

2. Press the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking pan, using a spatula or your hands to press it down firmly.

3. Allow the mixture to cool and then cut it into crispy squares.

4. Enjoy your delicious chocolate rice crispy cakes!
