Position: Full-stack Web Developer, Node.JS

Location: Kings Norton Business Centre, Birmingham

 

Day Out With The Kids is a well known site with really high traffic. We help more than 26 million visitors a year find a great day out with their kids. We’re building further, to help families even more.

We’re looking for another developer to expand our team, who wants to work in a friendly environment with a great proposition and brand. You will be building web solutions using Node.JS and other modern engineering toolsets.

Your mission will be to build and evolve great solutions for our users, measuring usage and engagement to make evidence-based decisions. You’ll be involved in deciding what we do, as well as actually getting it done.

You’ll want to write tests, and automate deployments, minimise the busy work so we can focus on developing features that make a real difference.

We use modern engineering practices like Agile, work within a CI/CD environment and are building a data rich environment that will support releases of new features that make a difference to our users.

You’ll be supported by experts in digital marketing and SEO and an experienced startup CTO.

You will make significant input into architectural decisions and own the delivery of code.

 

Requirements:

Experience in Node.JS or experience in coding ideally in an open source language like Ruby, PHP, Python and be willing to learn Node.JS

Looking to work in an open and inclusive environment and solve big challenges like scaling, security and personalisation.

The opportunity:
 

Day Out With The Kids is seeking a Regional Partnership Manager to join our small sales team. This role is responsible for growing our partnership revenue from attractions and large scale family events in the Midlands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop outstanding advertising sales relationships with the UK family attraction and event industry; both on the phone, by email and in person.
  • Establish outbound process and manage time accordingly to ensure regular pipeline of opportunity.
  • Source own leads and contacts using all available on and offline research tools.
  • Fill regional featured listing inventory with retained partners, meeting and exceeding targets for new business
  • Develop strategy to close deals quickly and contract new business as well as retaining existing partners by offering regular account management.
  • Manage key relationships in assigned sector and become subject matter expert.
  • Use established campaign tools to consultatively meet partner needs.
  • Meet or exceed monthly sales goals, through account development and new business.
  • Feed into new product development based on partner feedback.
  • Work closely with Client Services Manager to ensure partner expectations are correctly set and then exceeded.
  • Create strategic territory plans to efficiently maximise sales opportunities
  • Represent Day Out With The Kids at events

  

Key priorities:

  • Identify prospects (attractions).
  • Feed into the strategy to target and approach prospects.
  • Arrange meetings and calls to sell in marketing packages, supporting with prompt and concise email follow up.
  • Attend industry events to raise the profile of the brand and meet new prospects.

 

About You;

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Track record of ad /digital media sales, ideally in the leisure sector.
  • Driving License
  • Business development/CRM/pipeline/experience
  • Collaborative approach with great communication skills
  • Happy to contribute to the overall performance and growth of a hard working team
