Cheshire Falconry
Northwich, CheshireAbout Cheshire Falconry
Tucked inside Blakemere Craft Centre the Cheshire Falconry facility offers a fantastic range of special interactive experiences with their owls and buzzards, eagle and hawks! But if you want to stick to a budget then the basic experience is pretty awesome too with daily flying displays on offer April through September, where you can see stunning birds of prey performing impressive aerial feats on and around the Aviary's weathering lawn, where you can also find them sunning themselves!
However the special experiences are really worth the extra money and include an hour long Family Falconry session for the whole lot of you together (over 5 years) to learn how to and actually fly birds of prey yourselves, under the watchful eye of a friendly professional falconer. Unforgettable!
The other suitable option for families in the experiences list is the hands on Junior Owl Experience for 4 to 12 year olds, where you'll slowly build up from holding some of the cutest balls of feathers you'll see to their great big counterparts! You'll usually be part of a public group doing this but they allow plenty of time for everyone to have a go.
Other experiences on offer start at 14 years of age, but include Eagle Adventures, Raptor Encounters, Meet The Birds and Walk On The Wild Side sessions, all providing fascinating behind the scenes access and hands on action with these magnificent creatures.
There are refreshments available to purchase at reception and there are wheelchair access routes throughout, but full mobility required on some of the experiences. There are other facilities available in the Blakemere Craft Centre too.
