Attraction Information
With plants from all over the world displayed in a 40 acre oasis of gardens and glasshouses, the Cambridge University Botanic Garden is an inspiration for gardeners, an exciting introduction to the natural world for families, and provides a great day out for all visitors! It's also a lovely place to let the kids take a camera along to as there's so much beauty crammed into the pace it's actually hard to take a bad photo!
As you discover this wonderful Garden, please remember that it is an unparalleled collection of plants used for research and teaching, cared for in a Grade II registered heritage landscape. Please take care to keep to the paths and lawns and not walk on the beds. Many plants are very fragile and are easily damaged. Please do not climb the trees either. You or the kids!
This is a working garden, where machinery is in constant use, so to stay safe, please look about you carefully and keep children in your care under close supervision at all times.
When you've wandered about enough to deserve some refreshments you can pop into the new Cafe and Garden terrace which you can find in the The Gilmour Suite wing of the Sainsbury Laboratory, which is not otherwise open to the public so no exploring!
