Unfortunatley, no public transport reaches us directly. The closest public transport is the bus which runs to the research park, but this requires visitors to then walk down the A10 to reach us. For this reason we discourage access via public transport.

About The Farmland Museum and Denny Abbey

The Farmland Museum and Denny Abbey has a lot of interactive displays suitable for young children based on the Medieval Abbey and farming.

Meet Daisy their milkable cow, sit on our Fordson tractor, dress up link a monk in the Abbey and more!

There is also a children's play area on site including climbing frame and slide as well as a playshed with a variety of toys. Lots of green space to run around outside the Abbey and Refectory.

Perfect for all ages from toddlers to grandparents
There is something for everyone at Denny Abbey and the Farmland Museum. There are displays of objects and farming equiptment from bygone eras of rural life and a lovely café alongside interactive displays that allow you to touch real artefacts and a fun children's play area.
Interactive elements throughout including a real tractor!
To keep children engaged there are interactive sound and touch elements around the site, including a real Fordson tractor which can be sat on, a milkable cow, dress up in the Abbey and other interactive objects including vintage weighing scales. All interactives are clearly signposted with a green hand to ensure families feel safe in what children can and can't touch.
The UKs only Abbey lived in by 3 religious orders
The Abbey is great for historically minded children who are interested in different period of history. It was built by Benedictine monks in the 12th century, lived in by Knights Templars and Poor Clare Nuns and eventually partially demolished due to Henry VIII. It was then lived in through the Victorian period by families of farmers. There is something to grab the attention of any history fan.
