Windermere Quays
Bowness-on-Windermere, CumbriaAbout Windermere Quays
Windermere Quays is a Marina which as well as offering permanent and holiday birthing for boats, also provides boats for hire so you can go sailing with a family of up to 6 on Lake Windermere. They hire out electrically powered boats, so you're not only being environmentally friendly but you can also get closer to the water based wildlife without frightening them off.
If you would prefer someone else to keep you afloat, you can also book a half day family cruise which will include lunch on the boat! A lovely way to have a stress free adventure!
If after all the lake air, you need to rest and dry out the bar restaurant area comes complete with Quayside Kids' Soft Play area where the kids can run about while you relax. At time of updating (autumn 2015) the play centre website is down, so best to check ahead by phone if that's a major part of why you're going.
