Leighton Hall near Carnforth, is the family home of the famous Gillow furniture making family. Famous for its' Objects d'art and stunning pieces of Gillow furniture, Leighton is a place where everyone can relax; there are no roped off areas, and it's not often you're asked not to touch!
Perfect for families with children, visitors are welcomed at the front door by friendly and entertaining guides and are encouraged to sit on the furniture and really get involved.
Between May and September our younger visitors can race around caterpillar maze, discover the hidden tree faces and play in the dens in the garden. In August there is a free teddy bear hunt as part of the house tour to keep all our little ones amused!
There's so much to do. Take a house tour, witness a breathtaking brids of prey display, (weather permitting) experience special events, examine priceless furniture, explore Leighton's grounds and gardens and relax with refreshments served in our charming tea rooms.
The hall is open May – September. Tuesday – Thursday 1:30pm – 5:30pm. Plus Fridays and Sundays in August.

Leighton Hall is the lived-in home of the Gillow furniture making family. There are no roped of areas and tours are entertaining and informal. Leighton is child friendly with space to play and let off steam. All visits include a guided house tour, a birds of prey flying display (weather permitting) and access to the gardens and grounds. There’s also time for refreshments in the charming tearooms.

There’s acres of grounds and pretty gardens, an ornamental vegetable plot, abundant 19th century walled garden, woodland walk and bee corner.
