Returning this autumn - Sundown Adventures!
Back by popular demand. Experience tree top thrills in a whole new light across 25 locations for a limited time between 17th October and 9th November. Go Ape Sundown Adventures offer a new level of forest fun in the dark. Become a creature of the night as you climb through the canopy on a high ropes course lit with colourful lights. Test your skills on tree top crossings and experience the thrill of a zip wire ride into the darkness. It's a unique opportunity to enjoy the forest's beauty and experience the adrenaline rush of adventure after dark. The experience takes one to two hours, and the Go Ape team are around to help throughout. It starts with a safety briefing and harness fitting. For ages 6 and up (minimum height 1.2 metres) this is an adventure that will delight kids and adults alike.
Fun Activities for Thrill Seekers
From the Stepping Stone to the Tank Trap and the Shuffle, there are plenty of fun and intricate crossings for them to conquer. Treetop Challenge also includes wobbly rope bridges, free-swinging crossings, breathtaking – literally – Tarzan Swings and 6 ape-tastic zip wires – the longest is more than 320m long!
When you’re steady on the ground, take things up a gear and explore the stunning Grizedale forest! Wander at your own leisurely pace. You can also explore the forest floor on the cycling routes for the perfect two-wheeled adventure or the many walking routes around. Be ready to spot some beautiful views and magnificent scenery!
More of a zip enthusiast? The Zip Trekking Adventure is the ultimate adventure, it's the longest dual zipline course in the UK with over 3km worth of zip lines over eight site locations. Take in the stunning Lake District views as you tour to the top of the forest canopy before zipping your way down through the valley. You’ll feel like you can touch both the sky and the treetops of the ancient Douglas Firs at this stunning location as you speed down the zipline with your friends.

By Car
They recommend taking the below route:
From the south via the A590 and Newby Bridge. Follow signs to Hawkshead, past the Swan Hotel at Newby Bridge and through Lakeside, up the west side of Windermere.
As you come to Hawkshead (approximately 8 miles, 20 minutes, from the A590 turn) take the small left turn signed to Grizedale next to two white cottages.
Continue for three miles up over the hill and down the other side and park in Kennels car park on the right, or Hall Car Park on the left another half mile further on.
