About Millom Discovery Centre
Take kids on a journey through time with quizzes, toy trains and dressing up at Millom Discovery Centre. Who says history has to be boring?!
Located at Millom Train Station in an old Victorian building, the centre is an open door to tales and truth from around the local area. Mining, railways, wartime and more are up for exploration and their stories are told with an ever-growing collection of over 10,000 artefacts (!) and recorded commentaries, as well as an extra enthusiastic team of volunteers.
This is not your average museum with a special activity corner for kids who can’t handle cold, hard facts quite yet. Take part in a quiz or piece together the past with a jigsaw; there are plenty of picture books, pieces to dress up in and even tiny train tracks - basically all the stuff that makes learning fun!
