About Bowhill House and County Estate
Welcome to Bowhill House and County Estate. The estate has plenty to offer visitors of all ages not least of which is their recently improved adventure playground, now featuring 2 matching 30m zip lines, platform towers connected by a wobbly bridge, plus 12 and 8m embankment slides! Loads to do for kids of all ages though the older ones will probably get the most out of it.
You can also join in with ranger led wildlife walks, see a presentation in the cosy 72 seat theatre and refresh yourselves in their locally renowned tea room.
There are walking and hiking routes ranging from a mile long ramble great for young families to a 7 mile beast of a circuit that will give you all a sound night's sleep afterwards! Or keep it calm and go fishing on with the River Ettrick or in the Bowhill Lower Loch! Nearly 12 miles of mainly double bank fishing with 80 named pools: bliss!
For those of you looking for less energetic attractions, Bowhill's historic house is home to one of the best collections of art and fine furniture in Europe and its landscaped gardens and ancient woodland are delightful for exploration.
