Midlothian Snowsports Centre has skiing and snowboarding of course, but so much more if you've got kids along!
Tubing is also known as Ringos and it's basically riding a speeding inflatable tube with a slick plastic bottom down a ski slope! Have A Go Sessions at the Junior Tubing for ages 4 to 12 are held Fridays 13:00 to 16:00, but you need to be organized: you must book a place on the same day at reception, but there are only 10 places available! Worth heading over early to be sure. Children must wear gloves, long sleeved tops, trousers and outdoor shoes.
The Premium Tubing is a bit faster and requires more control so they welcome over 8s only. They offer 4 super new tubing runs for the whole family to tackle together! This one has a people conveyor to take you back to the top too, which is handy, but they don't take any pre booking for this, so be sure to turn up early, or check for availability. This session is on Fridays 13:00 to 18:00 and weekends 10:00 to 18:00. Same dress rules apply but helmet is not mandatory. Still advised though!
Junior Ski School is available for over 6s and Junior Snowboard Schools for over 8s, teaching all the necessary skills from absolute beginners upwards.
Plus Super Sliders and Sunday Sliders is a fun club on Saturdays and Sundays for 7 to 12s, with loads of great skill building activities. You must already be confident at skiing and club membership is pre arranged.
