The Bike Place in Kielder

The Bike Place in Kielder is an excellent place to visit if you want to go biking through the wilderness with family and friends. There are a variety of bikes, in different sizes, for hire, including mountain bikes for kids, plus child seats, buggies and bicycle trailers for the smalls. With over 125km (over 77 miles), of nationally graded cycle trails, all of which have been overhauled with new way markers, there are plenty of routes to follow. There are also 5 circular routes, made up of open moorland and quiet country lanes. There really is a trail to suit everyone. From the Lakeside Way around the Kielder and the Bellingham Routes, which are all moderate but with some hill climbing, to the more adventurous Osprey Trail or even the more technical Lonesome Pine Trail. If you want to try out your mountain biking skill, there is a purpose built Skills Loop, which will allow you to gauge the different trail gradings and decide which is right for you. It will also give you a chance to improve your skills.
