Weird and Wonderful Wood this year is on 11th & 12th May at Haughley Park, Stowmarket. Winners of best festival in Suffolk for two years running, the event returns to delight visitors young and old with beautiful handmade wood crafts, stalls, demonstrations, free workshops, live music, spontaneous happenings and local food & drink. A magical celebration of all things wood, from fine furniture and sculpture to archery, tree climbing and den building. There’s huge surprises around every corner: you can chat with a cavewoman, meet a giant tortoise, see a show, whittle a spoon and look inside a willow structure. The organisers have an ethos of keeping the event affordable for families, and once you’re at the event all the activities are free.

A great day out for all the family with lots to see and do including fine furniture, sculpture, wood turning, instrument making, fletchers and bowyers, axe carving, pole lathe, hurdle making, chain saw carving, archery, tree climbing, den building, free children's workshops, live music, entertainment, spontaneous happenings, stalls, local food and drink and much more....Join us for a magical celebration of all things wood.
While you are at the event all the children's workshops including archery, tree climbing, den building, hula hooping, paper making, puppet making, clay, drumming, weaving, willow workshops engraving, spoke shave, and more are free to enjoy.

Why is Weird and Wonderful Wood great for families? Because you can learn to hula hoop, build with clay, make a den, join in with drumming, do a willow workshop, make a mini garden, try archery, use a spoke shave, build with scrap wood, make a puppet, hear a story, watch a show, whittle a spoon, test your strength, climb a tree with Monkey Do, play giant games, find out what the Tortoise Taught Us, meet a fairy, see a mechanical dragon, and make friends with a cavewoman! And more!
