Attraction Information
Holywells Park has a lot to offers visitors for a day's family entertainment, from lots of green to plenty of wet! There's a paddling pool (summertime only) which is ideal for small children to cool off in and a cutting edge children's play area called The Discovery and designed around a galleon theme, interestingly commemorating the local vessel that founded Jamestown in 1607. The play area has around some 20 pieces of sturdy but fun outdoor play equipment ideal for kids 2 years to 10 years old, along with sheltered picnic areas and sunny green space to pelt about in.
The Stable Block Visitor Centre and Stable Cafe are open from 10am to 5pm April to October and 10am to 4pm October to March, providing refreshments, information and sometimes relief from the rain! You can pick up some handy leaflets at the Centre including maps for several trails, themed individually around wildlife, heritage and trees, which are fun to follow. There's also a set of 16 circles to be found on the orienteering trail, which keeps energetic older kids nice and busy!
Plus if you bring your own stuff, unlikely as that seems, there's a bowling green too! And plenty of space for bat, ball and frisbee games, so why not load up a bagful!
