Attraction Information
The Rum Story is set in the original 1785 shop, courtyards, cellars and bonded warehouses of the Jefferson family and has been authentically designed to provide all-weather family entertainment with a nicely educational back.
During a visit theres lots to take in as you travel through a tropical rainforest, an African village, a realistic slave ship, Cumbrian cottages, a Cooper's workshop and scrum my cafe, so kids will be far from bored even if they're not interested in the booze (which they shouldn't be really!).
You can also have a kids' pirate themed birthday party here too! The smalls can follow a map through the exhibitions playing pirates games along the way and being encouraged, apparently, to run, jump, burp and eat jelly babies…
Plus you're near the newly renovated Harbour as part of the local heritage regeneration project so go check out the new and improved Crow's Nest for more piratey goodness!
