The playground and green space at Fitz Park in Keswick now also features a full size well equipped BMX track thanks to tireless local campaigning: well done folks! Numerous features like rollers, step-ups, berm corners, doubles, triples and more challenging jumps besides are provided for your shredding pleasure! Just please of course ensure that everyone is helmeted and padded up, as it's an unsupervised public track and it's all on you!
The fantastic new play area in the Lower Park now includes equipment for children of all ages from toddlers to teenagers, with all the classics represented in the fields of climbing, sliding, swinging and hiding! There are also wide open spaces for ball games or generally just running about and burning off some energy, so long as you're conscious of others if you're diving kites or punting projectiles!
Glorious views towards Skiddaw and Latrigg make it an ideal spot for a picnic. Benches are located both by the riverside and in the enclosed playground so you're good to bring nan and granddad, plus in summertime you can enjoy watching the local cricket teams showing off!
Please be aware that the sat nav is just to get you close, it does not direct you to specific parking areas, so the end of your journey should be planned both throughly and independently!
