England Coast Path National Trail is probably the UK's ultimate long distance hiking challenge, but you don't need to walk it all at once and many people go just for the day.
The Trail provides a great opportunity for the kids to explore some of the most spectacular coastal walking and is considered one of the top walks in the world!
The path runs along the entire length of Exmoor National Park, which has a great mix of moorland, cliffs and woodland, plus valleys and farmland. A large part of the trail also runs through the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural beauty, which features sandy beaches, rugged coastline, plus hidden coves and historic villages to discover. There are 2 World Heritage Sites, one where you can learn all about Cornish Mining, and another with information about the Jurassic Coast, which was carved out over thousands of years! Look out for the iconic landmark, Durdle Door, which is a fantastic rock arch in the sea.
Whether you choose to walk the Trail for a day, or to make a holiday of it, everyone will love the wealth of natural wonders, amazing wildlife and interesting heritage.
