Here at ChalkUp! we offer bouldering (climbing at low level with crash mats meaning no requirement for ropes) for all ages and abilities. This place is great to bring the kids on a rainy day in the holidays to burn off some energy! Don't fancy supervising? Just drop us a line- we offer 1:1 or group climbing tuition so you can have a break and get the kids back at the end, tired but happy!
If you fancy a day out spending quality family time together, doing something active and fun, ChalkUp! is the perfect venue. We are in a rural but accessible place with loads of parking available and endless space when you get inside!
Chalkup! offers changing and showering facilities as well as baby changing.
Our staff are knowledgable, helpful, approachable and super enthusiastic- they want the world to know how great Bouldering is!!
Watch out for our regular social evenings. Generally on a Friday evening, you can come along, have a climb and finish with yummy food, oftern a pizza van, sometimes burgers, we try to change it up often.
If you are visiting our beautiful area, we are close to the Quantock Hils, Exmoor and also the seaside town of Minehead. And if you find you would like to visit us more than once, we have bundles and memberships availalbe to make each visit that bit more affordable!
There is also a fully equipped gym which is available to over 16s and has many membership options.

Climbing with Dedicated Kids' Indoor Bouldering Wall
Bouldering is a very accessible, indoor sport, fast growing in popularity and there is no minimum age limit for bringing children to climb at ChalkUp Bouldering. We have a low level boulder wall specifically for children which will suit them right through to around 8 years of age, depending on confidence and reach. After that, children will find the lower grade climbs on the adult wall are perfect for them to develop. We have coffee, cake, seating area and free wifi for adults with vending machine and ice cream available for a well earned break/treat for the kids. We also run group and 1:1 coaching sessions as well as a Youth Climbing Club.
Brand new Facility for all the Family with climbing coaching
This facility was purpose-built and opened in November 2023. It was built with children in mind, providing an area dedicated to children 6 and under. There is also an extensive area for anyone over 6 years old which contains routes of all variations from basic (suitable for beginner children) al the way to experienced climber. Anyone can give it a go. Providing there is an adult willing to supervise the children (therefore not climb), other adults can jump on and try something different! If your child is serious about learning to climb, we offer private tuition as well as a Youth Climbing Club.
We do Birthday Parties!!
If you are interested in having a fun, active party for your child, look no further! We offer bespoke parties with climbing-related games, fully qualified staff to supervise and keep the children safe.
