China Blue is a one-of-a-kind destination store for those seeking a unique, curated mix of shopping, creativity and eating! We offer fun, inclusive, indoor activities, the whole family can enjoy.
Based in the heart of Totnes, China Blue has been trading for the last 26 years. The idea of China Blue came to life in 1997, as a pottery painting studio and manufacturer of ceramics, from there the business has evolved into what you see today! Our unique offerings help us stand out from other destinations, we have a pottery studio, lifestyle store, hairdressers, beauty salon and a café all under one roof! There’s something for everyone of all ages, whether you are family with young children, a group of adults or teenagers looking for a fun activity together, a couple looking for a different sort of date day or just a sole traveller looking to unwind!

The Largest Range Of Pottery in the South West!
Our ceramic studio boasts the largest range of pottery in the Southwest, including fairy tale characters, vehicles, tableware, pet bowls, and more! We offer pot-throwing classes, evening workshops, clay modelling, and seasonal sculpting classes. You can also create bespoke clay impressions of puppy paws or baby hand and footprints. With ample seating in both the studio and café, families can gather and enjoy together.

We create vibrant, seasonal dishes using only the best, fresh and local ingredients.
Working towards reducing our food miles and taking pride in every cup of freshly ground, artisan coffee we make. Nearly everything is homemade, our team of chefs refresh the menu seasonally, bringing you the latest must-try dishes, along with weekly specials. Indulge in the tempting delights made by our in-house pastry chef all displayed in our counter.
We do not take bookings. As a busy venue, we operate on a walk-in only basis. This way, we ensure that everyone gets the chance to enjoy the Wild Thyme experience, no booking required, so no being turned away.
