Attraction Information
Decoy Country Park provides an opportunity to enjoy formal playing fields and a large children's play area with a seasonal water play feature which operates from the May Bank Holiday through to the end of September. The water play offers sprays and jets, tipping bucket and more besides: a great way to cool off after working up a sweat on all the other stuff!
Other popular amenities include a lake supporting water sports activities and a deciduous woodland with a trim trail incorporated into it. Plus Decoy was once a clay quarry but having been restored somewhat it supports a rich new wealth of wildlife, with the main habitats of ponds, streams and fens plus wet and heath woodlands lending themselves to a fascinating diversity of eco systems! All of which will generally require your wellingtons in order to properly explore: fair warning!
The Park provides numerous family suitable opportunities for quiet countryside recreation such as walking, wildlife watching, duck feeding and picnics, with good wheelchair and pushchair access throughout. Add in a ball, a picnic, some binoculars and a bug or bird chart and pencil and you've got happy kids for considerable periods even if the playground is heaving. Not to be sniffed at!
