Sea Kayak Devon will take you and your family on an exciting journey along the stunning south Devon coastline. This is the perfect activity for kids and adults alike! There are plenty of nice sheltered bays and coves for novices, no experience at all is required, just a bit of water confidence and all necessary equipment is provided.
You will get to explore hidden coves and picnic on beaches only accessible by kayak. There is an abundance of amazing wildlife that you can get up close to like seals, dolphins and sea birds.
The kayaks are easy to paddle and very stable so even complete beginners can hop on the water and get going very quickly. Younger kids or adults looking for a more relaxing trip can take one of the big stable double kayaks so the whole family can get involved. Experienced guides will teach you all you need to know and be on hand at all times to help you and your kids have a fun and memorable day out!
If it is a hot day you should be comfortable kayaking in shorts and t-shirt but please also bring a spare set of warm outdoor clothing just in case the weather turns cold; you will be provided with a waterproof kayak jacket and waterproof trousers if needed. You will also need to bring a pair of shoes or Sandals that you don't mind getting wet and a pack lunch and drink.

Sea kayaking makes for the most perfect family trip! You’ll go on a mini-expedition exploring hidden gems along the coast and picnicking on beautiful secluded beaches often only accesibile by kayak, where you can swim and roast marshamallows over a fire.
We have all the kit you'll need, just bring a snack, drink, suncream, hat, extra layers on chilly/wet days and shoes you don't mind getting wet like an old pair of trainers, walking sandles, crocs.
On wet days we have specialist waterproof kayaking cagoules and trousers that will keep you warm and dry. Kayaking is actually a great wet weather activity to do with the kids!
We also over guided Paddleboarding trips too!
Families, groups, individuals are all welcome. No experience is required.
Children age 5 to 11 get priority on DOUBLE KAYAKS with their adult! If your family has a mix of younger kids and teenagers, the Young Family Trip is the trip to book.

Located opposite the Higher Ferry slipway, at the far end of Coronation park past the tennis courts you will find our base. Just look for a bright colourful stack of kayaks and paddle boards and you'll see one of our team there ready to check you in for your trip! There is an accessible public toilet at our base. Cafe at the other end of the park. We look forward to paddling with you!
