Attraction Information
At Bygones Victorian Museum shop as grandparents used to shop. Memories of journeys on the romantic steam trains your parents knew. Escape into the magic lands of fantasy where every generation loves to go!
Features include the Life Size Street which boasts a General Store, an Apothecary and a Toy Shop, and there are Period Display Rooms which include The Nursery, The Kitchen and The Station Hotel. And a 28ft working miniature railway! Cool!
It branches out of the Victorian era too and the WW1 Trench contains military displays, the Anderson shelter and a mock trench, none of which is too harrowing in focus for the smalls to handle. Plus they've recently acquired a 40s and 50s shopping arcade which makes for an interesting wander through.
More eclectic still there's the Fantasy Land collection of global landmarks and a range of historic games in the Amusement Arcade, some of which still work! The Peninsular And Oriental Steam Navigation Company (better known to you and I as P&O Ferries) offers a room full of fascinating memorabilia and you get guided tours of the whole thing plus availability for a really, really unusual party location!

Walked down Memory Lane 4 out of 5 stars
Historical interest of lots of old artefacts from a bygone era. A recreation of a Victorian street and arcade plus a toy/gift shop and cafe. There is also an arcade of antique coin slot games. Public car park at the back is also the entrance to Model World.
AnonymousNot worth it 1 out of 5 stars
Not worth a visit. Costs a lot of money for not. It’s cramped and cluttered with so much stuff there isn’t room to walk. Penny arcade isn’t a proper penny arcade as takes 10p not the old fashioned penny’s. Very disappointed with are visit.
