Embark on a family adventure experience like no other at Mendip Activity Centre, nestled in the heart of the picturesque Mendip Hills National Landscape. Located just off the A38, between Weston-super-Mare and Bristol, the site is home to a dry snowsport slope, toboggan run, target sport ranges, frisbee golf course, cave and rocksport quarry.
Having been established in 1987, we're now one of the largest independent outdoor activity centre's in the UK and alongside our vital outdoor activity residential work with schools, families love us! With a plethora of activities to choose from, Mendip Activity Centre the perfect place to disconnect from technology and immerse yourself in nature while creating unforgettable memories.
From tobogganing down our thrilling slopes to learning to ski or snowboard on our dry slope, there's excitement for everyone, including seasonal delights like Twilight Tobogganing. Birthday parties are a breeze to plan with private sessions and catering packages available, ensuring a day filled with joy and celebration.
In our adventurous activities, unleash your inner explorer with climbing and abseiling in our private rocksport quarry or venture under the Mendip Hills and explore the intricate cave network with a caving adventure. Head to our watersports site (15 minute drive from main centre) and take to the water with kayaking, paddleboarding and raft building sessions or challenge your friends and family to take on the assault course. With fully qualified instructors guiding you every step of the way, it's a safe and exhilarating experience for the whole family whatever activity you choose.
For those with a keen eye and steady hand, our target sport activities offer a chance to test your skills in archery, air rifle shooting, axe throwing, and Archery Active—a thrilling team combat sport. And for a more relaxed challenge, try your hand at Frisbee Golf, a fun activity for all ages taking in the beautiful sights of our ancient woodland.
There's always time to refuel at the cafe-bar, The Alpine Lounge. Serving hot and cold food all day, every day including breakfast baps, loaded fries and stone baked pizzas.
Mendip Activity Centre provides school residentials and activity camps year round. With all of this activity available, you might worry that one day is not enough! We've got that covered too! Every year, from the May half term holidays until the end of the Summer, Mendip Basecamp is open to the general public as a family campsite through all holidays and weekends. Basecamp is the perfect adventure holiday, either bring your own tent or small camper or rent a glamphouse, bunk tent or bell tent for hassle free camping. The off grid campsite has all of the best bits of back to basics camping with fire pits available for hire (ready for the all important marshmallow toasting) but also plenty of hot showers and flushing toilets on hand.

Embark on a day of adventure with adrenaline-fuelled activites such as climbing, caving, kayaking, paddleboarding, abseiling, buschcraft and an assault course at Mendip Activity Centre. Perfect for a family day out, our activities offer a mix of excitement, challenge and learning led by our highly experienced and qualified outdoor instructors.
Tobogganing and Learn to Ski or Snowboard
Discover the thrill of tobogganing and learn to ski or snowboard on our dry snowsport slopes at Mendip Activity Centre. With seasonal activities like Twilight Tobogganing, Easter Tobogganing and the Zombie Outbreak, there's never a dull moment. Tobogganing is our most popular activity and can be booked for children aged 4 to 12 or as private sessions for the whole family- incuding adults- to enjoy. Ski and Snowboard lessons, refreshers and slope passes available for all abilities to try their hand at snowsports, all year round.
On Target
Test your aim with our on target activities, including archery, air rifle shooting, axe throwing, archery active (great for birthday parties) and frisbee golf. Frisbee Golf can be enjoyed by all ages as you explore our 18-basket frisbee golf course throughout the woodland and rolling hills. Whether you're a beginner or a seasoned pro, there's something for everyone to enjoy in this action-packed lineup.
