Burnham Beach
About Burnham Beach
Sun, sea and a lovely day at the beach - it's the perfect way to spend your summer holidays....or any other warm day of the year! Get the kids ready and go for a swim at Burnham Beach in Burnham On Sea.
This charming sandy beach is less popular than the nearby Weston-super-Mare, which means you'll get to enjoy the seaside, minus the tourists. Who doesn't want to escape the crowds for a bit?
A lazy day at the beach is a firm family favourite - just unwind and enjoy the sun to the sound of kids playing and waves washing on the shore with a quiet “Woosh”. Fancy a short stroll? Go for a walk on Burnham Beach Pier but mind you, it will really be a short walk! It's the shortest pier in the whole of Britain. Built in 1911, it's just over 100 ft (37 m) long. It consists more or less of one pier and pavilion.
