Attraction Information
Glastonbury Abbey can be found within 36 acres of beautiful parkland in the ancient market town of Glastonbury, and has plenty to offer every visitor. There is a museum, fish and duck ponds, a Badger Boardwalk, Cider Orchard, picnic area, plus Living History tours between March and October!
If you visit the Abbey between March and October, look out for some unusual characters around the ruins, especially in the Abbot's 14th century kitchen, as there is a team of costumed Living History presenters in the grounds! These guides will bring history to life as they take you on short walks around the main attractions on the site. Learn about the pilgrims who flocked here to worship, and discover the amazing connections between the Abbey and even tales of King Arthur!
This is one of the earliest, and most fascinating abbeys in England with plenty for the whole family to discover, from the incredible history to the tranquil surroundings. Dogs are welcome too, but will need to be kept on a short lead due to the number of ducks, badgers, and squirrels on site. The grounds are largely wheelchair accessible.
A number of events throughout the year so check online to see what's on when you visit.
