A unique play experience for 0 - 4 years

Tinker Stay and Play opened in February 2024 and has taken the baby and toddler market to a whole new level.

Boldly including a 4 square metre indoor sandpit plus an array of Montessori inspired wooden, shiny and vintage style resources the space just oozes exploration.

The atmosphere created by the soothing music, cosy carpet, textures, and objects to explore including a sensory den, dress up suitcase and even a puppy pit, the children are so engrossed in their own play it gives the opportunity for parents to relax.

Across the internal fence line lies the imaginative and water play area, ‘Tinker in the Wild’. Dubbed ‘an indoor forest school’ with woodchip on the floor in one half of the play space toddlers potter about in the potion kitchen, fishing in the fountain, building and watering their own flowers and creating their own dinosaur world under the ‘pump your own’ waterfall.

Parents have not been forgotten in this play establishment, with comfy velvet sofas, swivel chairs to help breastfeeding mums keep an eye on their wandering toddlers; Tinker has a high end feel to it. Topped with great coffee served in sealed travel mugs. Genius.

"My child can play and I can actually relax!"

Tinker is divided into two sections, ‘Tinker in Comfort’ and ‘Tinker in the Wild’. These areas are divided by a low fence and there is a gate for entry or exit from Tinker in the Wild.

Tinker in Comfort (suitable for ages 0-4)

A cosy carpeted play area with open ended natural and sensory resources for your child to ‘tinker’ with.

The space includes a large sand pit, sensory den, plenty of monochrome to delight the babies, and opportunities to explore, roll, build, pour, create and wonder with an exciting collection of old and new.

Tinker in the Wild

suitable for 18 months - 4 years (children must be confident walkers and parents need to be aware of small parts)

Get your toddler ready in their puddle suit and wellies for a whole host of imaginative play opportunities! With wood chips under your feet explore over 12 different stations set-up with independent play in mind.

Providing play set ups similar to those in a preschool your little one can explore and play at their own pace and interest level. We have 5 stations with an element of water to them so puddle suits and wellies are essential.

Sensory, Imaginative and Water Play all under one roof!

“Visited for the 1st time today with my little boy who is 2 years old. This place is magic! Beautiful calm, sensory playing for babies through to toddlers (4 years) I never thought such a place existed or that it could be such a calming space for children to actually play and for me to have a hot coffee! Abbie has thought of everything. Will definitely be coming back. It really is relaxing and something that is needed for so many children and families. Thank for creating such a beautiful space for our children.” Tamara Lloyd-Carter

"What an incredible play space.

Somewhere you can go and get just as engrossed as the children whilst they play. The thought that has gone into each and every activity is just amazing. The amount of play opportunities within each activity set up is so well thought out and designed. Very sceptical about an indoor sandpit and whether the sand would stay in one place having toddlers exploring, but this was not an issue they are soooo engrossed in what there doing with so many ways to play and learn that there was no mess.
