Attraction Information
Shepton Mallet Outdoor Pool, tucked away just off an unprepossessing residential street in Shepton Mallet, is a fantastic place to take the kids for an outdoor swim during the summer months, with a toddler pool, a wonderful series of fountains and water jets to play in, plus a children's play area on the grass.
The main pool measures 25m x 12m (approximately 82ft x 39ft), ranging from 0.9m (2ft 11) at the shallow end to 2m (6ft 6) at the deep end. This ecofriendly pool dates back to the 1950s, but was extensively refurbished in 2006, and is warmed using recycled heat from the Brother's Cider factory next door.
The children's pool measures 12m x 7m (approx. 39ft x 23ft) ranging from 0m at the shallow end to 0.8m (2ft 7in) at the deep end, and offers a great place for your little water babies to get a fun introduction to swimming.
There are male, female, and disabled changing facilities with lockers, an undercover balcony area with seating, and a shop selling swim stock and snacks, drinks, and ice creams. There are lovely grassy and decking areas with picnic benches too, making this a great location to relax and enjoy the sunshine with the family.
