Enjoy East Somerset Railway's 5 mile round journey through the rolling Mendip countryside. Ride the train, have a look around and ride the train again, your ticket allows you to ride more than once. Learn more about the line when you visit the museum. The signal box is open most weekends. There are volunteer staff who are very knowledgeable and will give you all the help you need and answers to any question you may have.
You can also explore the engine shed to see a range of Steam Engines, and watch the volunteers in the workshop as they restore either a locomotive or some of the carriages. You can drive a light engine for a fiver on specific dates, see their website for more details. For a small donation you can ride the miniature railway also staffed by volunteers.
The Day Out With Thomas event is an all inclusive event, you can be there all day, you can ride Thomas more than once, with roundabout rides, bouncy castle, face painting, Punch and Judy, Sir Topham Hat and much much more.
