About Family Art Saturdays

Family Art Saturdays provide families an opportunity every fortnight to spend two hours together in a calm, creative environment. It takes people out of the busy stresses of modern life to spend time with each other rather than on screens.

More and more research articles are explaining the importance of arts and crafts in providing healing qualities for the body and mind. In one article written by the NHS it talks in depth about the 'act of creating engages the brain in ways that promote relaxation and mindfulness, reducing the production of stress hormones like cortisol and fostering a state of calm. Creative expression provides a safe outlet for emotions that may be difficult to articulate, promoting emotional release and self-awareness. Physically, the repetitive and focused nature of many crafts can be meditative, improving fine motor skills and cognitive function'.

Provides a calm and tranquil place to be creative

The organiser of Family Art Saturdays is also a trained Mindfulness teacher so is able to create the necessary calm, peaceful and tranquil environment needed for families to relax and ease stress and tension from their busy days. Family Art Saturdays is all about being calm and supportive of one another in the group.

Perfect for all family members.
