Plymouth Ski Centre
Plymouth, DevonAbout Plymouth Ski Centre
With 3 awesome slopes to choose from including the longest artificial slope in the South West, Plymouth Ski and Snowboard Centre is the perfect place to practice and learn new wintery skills! Their fabulous artificial ski slopes are covered in Perma-Snow covering so no matter how bright and sunny the weather (just joking, it's England!) you're set for snowy joy!
Their friendly and professional centre is open throughout the year (thanks, Perma-Snow!) offering skiers and snowboarders of all levels, with group lessons available for 4 to 7 year old and private lessons available thereafter. Experienced or not 4 years is the minimum age.
Open practice is available every day for experienced skiers and boarders to use the main slope, without tuition, an hour and a half at a time. The provisos for this are that you must be able to use the lifts properly, control your own speed and direction, perform controlled and linked turns and be able to fit your own boots correctly (or have an experienced mum or dad do it for perfection!).
On site they also have an exhilarating 650 meter toboggan run and exciting Sno-Tube rides both pre-bookable for over 4s, who are properly dressed for it, so check the rules and book ahead of time! Kids doing the toboggan run still need to be over 4 years and under 7s must have an adult ride with them. Aw shucks you have to go too! (Bonus!)
They also run snow sports themed birthday parties which are well worth a look for see it all done it all kids who usually haven't seen or done this!
