Elcho Castle
Perth, Perth and KinrossAbout Elcho Castle
Elcho Castle is in great conditions and full of corridors and staircases, nooks and crannies, a great hall and bedchambers to investigate. Unusually, there are also a large number of toilets, see how many you can find! There is information on boards around the castle, plus costumes to try on and perhaps pretend the castle is yours. A free quiz is available and you will get a sticker for completing it and guidebooks are available if you want more information. If you are up for a climb, you can walk around the rooftop and enjoy the lovely views, or if you don't have a head for heights, there is an orchard to walk round, plus a trail that leads from the castle to the river. There are also picnic tables. The castle may not be suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs as there are a lot of stairs and the floors are a bit uneven but the grounds are accessible.
