Dewars Centre
Perth, Perth and KinrossAbout Dewars Centre
Dewars Centre, based at Live Active, is the home of ice in Perth, with a fantastic fun programme of ice skating for everyone, on a state of the art curling ice rink with Olympic Standard ice! It also hosts international competitions in curling (and indoor bowling), attracting players from all over the world, so you couldn't really learn or improve in more esteemed surroundings!
Dewars Centre welcomes people of all ages and ability levels to come along and step onto the ice during their open season. Whether you are a complete beginner, or an experienced skater, everyone is encouraged to strap on their skates and give it a go! There are rails around most of the rink so beginners can hug the rim if they like, but you can only do that for so long so get out there!
Ice activities available include public skating sessions, plus Penguins and Snow Babes sessions for the kids. Penguin sessions make learning easy and fun for children, helping to keep them upright while they master the skill of skating. Snow Babes is for children aged 2 to 5 years to get used to the environment and the required movements, while being supported and subtly picking up vital skills. Skating lessons are also available for ages 5 and older, with structured, coached sessions for the next generation of ice skaters!
Ice skating is available most weekends from October to April and from September to March junior and adult curling is available in an 8 lane rink, too! A great place for all things icy then, whatever your taste and talent!
