These heath-covered hills spread as much as 2,000 hectares and are an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so you know it's worth the visit. It's a place to switch off from mobile devices and admire the views around, whether you walk, cycle, go horse riding or drive to the top of the hills. With plenty of walking paths on the hills, find the one you want to explore and head off on your outdoor activity, to find some fantastic views. This place is actually super important for wildlife, geology and archaeology and is a popular destination. What's even more exciting, is that you can play in the stream at Carding Mill Valley, so your little kids can have a splash about, as you birdwatch, pond dip or unwind with a yummy picnic on Shropshire Hills. There are miles of footpaths, so you can find your favourite walk along Long Mynd. And there are walks suitable for all abilities and ages, so everyone can be included on this family day out. Whether you walk on the adjacent hill or up the valley. A fan favourite is the Lightspout Waterfall Walk, where you can venture out and discover the natural waterfall dubbed "miniature Niagara Falls" by its most frequent visitors. Or explore Long Mynd, an area of Common Land that is home to farmers who have grazing sheep and ponies along with the land. Fly in visit? Head up Carding Mill Valley and walk up to view the stunning Victorian reservoir in New Pool Hollow, or you can unwind and admire the bird hide. If you have a little more time, head over to Lightspout Waterfall or the Pipewalk circuit to take in the extensive views of Shropshire Hills.Feeling hungry? Grab a bite to eat, some fab cakes and delicious drinks at the Chalet Pavilion Tea room. They also serve tasty sandwiches and you can also have your own picnic, but please don't light any BBQs or fires!
