The Sun Valley Canoeing Company specialises, as the name suggests, in canoe trips for families in their Canadian style vessels, with an option for a guide to not only supply you with buoyancy aids and tuition but even accompany your group down the river!
The River Severn, teeming with wildlife, is one of the longest rivers in Britain and winds through scenic countryside, offering you a magnificent opportunity to enjoy Shropshire's natural beauty with no carbon footprint. Ideal!
They provide a wide range of programs from day trips to weekend and mid week breaks, including overnight stops. So whatever depth of adventure you're after and whatever level of activity you're up to, there's something suitable here for you!
While buoyancy aids are provided it's better if the kids are at least competent swimmers, not least to ensure that they are comfortable and not anxious on the ride. You need to dress sensibly and sturdily of course, and it's well worth playing a few games at home first with younger kids that explain to them the consequences of rocking the boat. Kind of what parenting is about anyway!
Opening Times
Times are planned at time of booking. Canoe trips take place every day from April until September and then weekends from October to November.
