Attraction Information
Buckinghamshire Railway Centre covers 25 acres and has one of the largest collections of steam locomotives and other railway vehicles in the UK.
Stunning glass-roofed Visitor Centre with many interesting and historic exhibits, plus cafe and gift shop. Outside exhibits, huge railway museum, restoration sheds where visitors can see on-going projects. Picnic areas. 1km long Miniature Railway, crossings, loops, stations, even a tunnel and a Garden Railway. Lots of fabulous family events like a Day Out With Thomas, Halloween, Panto Express at Christmas and visits from other kids TV characters like Paddington and Peppa Pig. Also, railway and vehicle enthusiast events, like the vintage transport weekend, Bus Rally and Classic Car Show.
Steaming Days are every Sunday from April to October (plus other days throughout the year).
During the week, all year round, our Railway Cafe inside the visitor centre is open Monday to Friday with free entry. Open 9.30am-2pm. Enjoy breakfast or lunch or a snack or just a cuppa, and wander around the exhibits inside and also outside the visitor centre. No train rides are offered on Cafe-only days and the museum remains closed, but there is still plenty to see, and all for free entry! Please see our website for more details! www.bucksrailcentre.org
