Buckinghamshire Railway Centre covers 25 acres and has one of the largest collections of steam locomotives and other railway vehicles in the UK.
Stunning glass-roofed Visitor Centre with many interesting and historic exhibits, plus cafe and gift shop. Outside exhibits, huge railway museum, restoration sheds where visitors can see on-going projects. Picnic areas. 1km long Miniature Railway, crossings, loops, stations, even a tunnel and a Garden Railway. Lots of fabulous family events like a Day Out With Thomas, Halloween, Panto Express at Christmas and visits from other kids TV characters like Paddington and Bluey. Also, railway and vehicle enthusiast events, like the vintage transport weekend, Bus Rally and Classic Car Show.
Steaming Days are every Sunday from April to October (plus other days throughout the year).
During the week, all year round, our Railway Cafe inside the visitor centre is open Monday to Friday with free entry. Open 9.30am-2pm. Enjoy breakfast or lunch or a snack or just a cuppa, and wander around the exhibits inside and also outside the visitor centre. No train rides are offered on Cafe-only days and the museum remains closed, but there is still plenty to see, and all for free entry! Please see our website for more details! www.bucksrailcentre.org
Steam train rides and more!
Visitors can enjoy unlimited steam train rides behind a restored steam locomotive and have rides on the miniature railway! Also, you can visit the Travelling Post Office, watch the model trains, wander the Railway Museum and admire all the stunning railway exhibits and buildings from all through the ages. There is a stunning glass-roofed railway visitor centre with lovely cafe and gift shop, plus stunning exhibits to look at, including a rare Royal dining carriage from Victorian times. There are 25-acres of railwayland to discover with lots to see, do and learn about for a first class family day out!
Unlimited steam train rides behind a restored steam locomotive
We are a steam museum and every Sunday during our steaming season (April-October), visitors can come along and enjoy unlimited steam train rides in a vintage carriage pulled by a painstakingly restored steam locomotive. For kids who love trains, this is literally the perfect day out! Enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of our special heritage railway!

Visit our huge Railway Museum with carriages, wagons, locomotives all in varying degrees of restoration! Plus, enjoy wandering around 25 acres of Railwayland filled with other buildings and artefacts - there's so much to do and so much to learn about!
